#Aggienation

I'm sure that you are all aware that  the Super Bowl was played last night.  For those of you who were only watching the game for the commercials, I'm sorry.  I hope you didn't cry for too long because you were depressed.

Last night I was rooting for the Seattle Seahawks.  Now, hold on.  Before you start calling "Bandwagon" let me explain where I am coming from.  I am a Utah State University Aggie.  As I am repeatedly telling my coworker, I am an Aggie fan to the death.  The Seattle Seahawks have two USU alumni on their team.  Bobby Wagner and Robert Turbin.  I support the Aggies.  If you are still trying to call me a bandwagon fan then I don't think you know what a bandwagon fan is.  In fact, you are a bandwagon fan of calling people bandwagon fans.  Get off the wagon.  Ok, rant over.

If you didn't catch it at anytime during the regular season, the post season or even during the Super Bowl, every time Bobby Wagner introduces himself he says the following: "Bobby Wagner. THE Utah State University."  How about that?  The man gives a national shout out to this "little" university in Utah.  That, my friends, is what the Aggie nation is all about.  We support each other and then we play our game.

Let's look at a few stats from last night, shall we?

First up, Bobby Wagner.  Our friend Bobby recorded 12 tackles.  10 of those were by himself.  On top of that, he also had one interception.  All season long the media have been praising our boy Bobby on bringing the Seattle defense back to life.  As I tweeted out last night, "Atta boy Bobby!"

Next, Robert Turbin.  Our other boy Robert is Marshawn Lynch's backup so he doesn't get a whole lot of playing time.  I'm fine with that.  He'll get his turn.  Going back to the stats we see that Turbin only had two carries and ran for 21 yards.  His biggest run set up Seattle for what should have been the game winning touchdown.  Our boy Robert Turbin did his part for his team.

Well played guys.

Turnovers, Turnovers and You Guessed It. More Turnovers

Well, that hurt.  The Men's Basketball team was the recipient of a beat down that reminded all of us of last year.  A couple of stats come to mind:

Number One:  Turnovers.  We had a total of 19 turnovers in the game.  14 of those came in the first half.  Yes.  Fourteen.  I'll be the first guy to tell you that I don't know everything about basketball but I do know that in order to win a game you do need to hold onto the ball.

Number Two: Field Goals and Blocks.  According to ESPN we got blocked 4 times.  I could have sworn that we had more than four shots blocked but still....

I will say this.  Each team rebounded 19 times.  Well done guys.  Keep going after the ball.

Now that being said, we have a game against Boise coming up on Tuesday.  This game has been declared a "White Out" game so let's get the Spectrum rocking.  Last year's White Out was awesome.  Let's pack the Spectrum and show Boise how it's done.  GO AGGIES!
